1. What we collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: your name, email address, organization name, and password or authentication credentials when you sign up.
  • Organization data: documents, source materials, training modules, SOPs, assignments, and other content you upload or create.
  • Learner progress and training records: completion status, quiz scores, acknowledgments, certificates, time spent, and related activity tied to assigned training.
  • Usage data: log data, browser and device information, IP address, pages viewed, and interactions with the Service.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve Banneker; to authenticate users; to process training assignments and records; to bill and manage subscriptions; to communicate with you about your account; to detect and prevent abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Payment processing

We use Stripe to process payments. Stripe collects payment details according to its own privacy policy and terms. We do not store complete payment card numbers on our servers.

4. Service providers

We rely on trusted service providers to run the product, including cloud hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, and analytics vendors. These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual protections. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies and local storage

Banneker uses cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work if cookies are disabled.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data and organization content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel, we may retain data for a reasonable period to fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

7. Security measures

We use industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security, and regular monitoring. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Organization admins can manage learner data for their workspace. To request access or deletion, contact us at support@portage.systems.

9. Not directed at children

Banneker is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and notify you of material changes by email or through the Service.
